About Soyo Oka

Composer / Arranger / Lecturer at College of Music

Born in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, she began playing the piano at the age of six and began working in music. She studied composition at the Osaka College of Music and saw promise in creating music for video games. In 1987, she joined Nintendo and worked under Shigeru Miyamoto, who was in charge of music for Nintendo's video game software. In 1995, she left Nintendo to become a freelance artist.
